Assessment UPdate is published bimonthly by Jossey-Bass. Articles cover a wide array of assessment related issues, including methods, tools, processes, measures, and design and implementation models. The readers of this publication are academic administrators, campus assessment practitioners, institutional researchers, and faculty from a variety of fields. All types of institutions are represented in the readerships.
New Directions for Institutional Research is a quarterly sourcebook published by Jossey-Bass under the sponsorship and policies of the AIR. Each issue focuses in detail on a specific topic relating to institutional research, planning, or higher education management in general. And beginning 2007, a supplemental issue will focus on assessment.
Founded in 1930, The Journal of Higher Education (JHE), published by Ohio State University Press, is the leading scholarly journal on the institution of higher education. Articles combine disciplinary methods with critical insight to investigate issues important to faculty, administrators, and program managers. The JHE is published bimonthly: January, March, May, July, September, and November.
Published eight times a year, Research in Higher Education is the official peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Association for Institutional Research.
Harvesting global scientific knowledge for development of African higher education, this new online quarterly journal of African higher education studies presents the papers of the annual conference of the Higher Education Research and Policy Network (HERPNET), a continent-wide network of faculty and administrators devoted to higher education research. The journal is a joint venture of AIR and HERPNET (a pending AIR affiliated group).
Started in 1985, the Higher Education Handbook publishes one annual volume (H. Springer Science & Business Media) and is jointly sponsored by AIR and the Association for the Study of Higher Education. The Handbook is organized around 12 to 15 higher education topic areas, each with its own associate editor. These topic areas reflect the richness and diversity of the field in terms of subject matter interests and methodological perspectives.
