Job dutiesMesa Community College’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness seeks qualified applicants for the position of Institutional Research Analyst. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness works as a team to fulfill our department Vision and Mission.

MCC is an emerging Hispanic-Serving Institution serving a diverse community. Applicants for the Institutional Research Analyst will be able to demonstrate experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting institutional and external data to provide findings and reports for use in decision making and in support of the college's strategic initiatives. Additionally, we seek applicants who demonstrate a commitment to service excellence, innovation, student success, integrity, and diversity in the performance of job duties.

40% - Data Extraction and Preparation - Access and extract data from data warehouses and other data sources using tools such as Hyperion, Tableau or other SQL browsers; Assist Institutional Effectiveness staff with data cleaning and preparation

35% - Data Analysis and Reporting - Conduct research, analyze data, and generate reports and visualizations utilizing tools such as Excel, SPSS and Tableau

15% - Survey Research - Manage administration, research and reporting related to college survey initiatives such as the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE), Noel-Levitz, Course Evaluations and internal college survey projects

10% - Committee and Staff Support - Serve on and support efforts of college committees, task forces, and work groups; Support Institutional Effectiveness office staff with operational needs such as website updates and other duties as assigned
Qualifications1. Bachelor's Degree in data science, business statistics, statistics, educational studies, information technology or directly related field and two (2) years of professional-level experience in research and analysis. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in
law or regulation

2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word

3. One (1) year experience extracting complex data sets from relational databases using queries written in SQL or SQL browsers

4. One (1) year experience designing and/or conducting qualitative and quantitative research

5. One (1) year experience presenting research results, either with written reports or verbal presentations
Salary rangeDependent on qualifications and experience
Salary benefits$51,468.00 - $61,117.00/annually - Commensurate with experience
