NC A&T’s Office of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (OSPIE) seeks an experienced senior institutional research analyst to provide critical support to the other teams in the unit. The unit supports a range of critical projects and issues by leveraging institutional data with a deep understanding of postsecondary education and the University. The person in this position will be responsible for delivering information and data to support strategic decisions.

Person in the position needs to be results-oriented and prepared to address the challenges of postsecondary education with excellent skills in planning, team and data management, communication, and analytics.
Job dutiesThe senior institutional research analyst is responsible for providing analytical support at various levels by creating and maintaining data and information, providing statistical analyses, responding to surveys and ad-hoc information requests, developing and conducting custom research methods for institutional studies, and enhancing the University's effectiveness through information and process integration.

Person in the position acts as the university’s liaison for student data with the University of North Carolina System. The main focus is student-related data. However, the incumbent is expected to develop familiarity with and understanding of HR data and financial aid data as part of professional development.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution (master’s degree preferred); at least three years of experience in an Institutional Research or Registrar’s Office required; strong data management skills, including the ability to work with large data sets; experience with Banner ERP system, relational databases, and their associated query tools (SQL Developer, Microsoft SQL Server, SAS, or WebFocus); demonstrated programming ability with statistical software packages such as SAS, STATA, R (SAS programming skills preferred); experience with University of North Carolina System’s Student Data Mart (SDM) preferred.
