Institution descriptionThe University of Tennessee System Office of Institutional Research and Planning (OIRP) is seeking an Information Analyst to provide technical assistance with the design, development, and maintenance of analytical and data visualization applications and other reporting solutions that support university-wide planning and decision-making functions and measure progress towards achieving institutional goals.
Job dutiesPrimary duties and responsibilities include the development, management, and maintenance of various web-based and non-web based reporting applications and dashboards using the University’s data warehouse and other data sources. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with OIRP and other offices to analyze university reporting needs, including identification of information needed in reports, data visualization, identification of data sources, development of accurate queries, and stored procedures and other activities. The successful candidate will also provide visual analytics, develop technical documentation related to standard reports, and provide assistance in the development of presentations and responding to ad hoc requests from UT senior officers.
QualificationsMinimum qualifications include a BS degree (masters preferred) in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or related area and relevant work experience in higher education or similar organization. A successful candidate will have experience with data warehousing, reporting and data visualization tools, and developing database queries and reports using SQL, PowerBI Management Studio, Visual Basic, Tableau, SAS or other statistical software packages. The candidate will also have excellent analytical, communication, problem, solving, time management, interpersonal skills, and ability to pay attention to details and accuracy.
