AIR hosts multi-day institutes for institutional research, institutional effectiveness, and assessment professionals.. These institutes, conducted as face-to-face meetings, combine lectures, demonstrations, exercises, and group discussions in an intense, hands-on curriculum. Participants gain knowledge and develop skills that can be applied to campus-based work in institutional research or to scholarly research about postsecondary education.
Institute instructors, selected for their practical knowledge and experience, are the core of each institute. A rich curriculum and opportunities for networking with peers create an educational experience that many past attendees consider to be the foundation to their success.
Foundations Institute
Over the years, AIR has conducted a series of summer institutes: Foundations I, Foundations II, Assessment, and Applied Statistics. The AIR Executive Office, with member input, is in the process of creating a NEW institute that will combine the best of the series and provide flexibility for participants to customize their experience. The Institute is tentatively set for early December, 2012 or mid-January, 2013.
Additional information and details about the new Institute will be released this summer (by June, 2012). If you are interested in being one of the first to know more information, sign up for Institute updates.
