Note: Completion of the Workshop registration request process does not guarantee a confirmed Workshop seat. AIR recommends that individuals wait to finalize travel arrangements until after notifications have been sent via e-mail on December 15, 2011.
IPEDS Workshop participants are responsible for making their own hotel reservation for the night of February 1, 2012 (night before the IPEDS Workshop). Please use the AIR/SEF IPEDS Workshop dedicated guest room reservation link to receive the contracted rate of $172.84 (including taxes).
Individuals interested in requesting travel assistance (up to $500) to help defer some of the cost associated with attending an IPEDS Workshop have the opportunity to do so via the online registration request process. Upon acceptance to the Workshop, participants will be notified of a maximum allowable reimbursement amount based upon the submitted travel request. The actual reimbursement amount will be determined when the participant submits receipts and a travel reimbursement form verifying actual expenses after the Workshop.

Mr. J. Keith Brown Associate Vice President of Institutional Research Postsecondary Education Consultant Cary, NC
Keith Brown recently retired from his position as the Associate Vice President for Research and Performance Management for the North Carolina Community College System. His primary responsibility included directing all research, accountability, and evaluation efforts for the NC Community College System. In addition, he served as the IPEDS State Coordinator for the NC community colleges for 12 years and as an IPEDS Trainer for eight years.
Prior to joining the North Carolina Community College System Office, Keith was Dean of Special Projects and Research at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM). Included in the roles he served while at NCSSM were the State Director of the Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics Program and the Director of the Mathematics and Science Education Center at NCSSM. Mr. Brown has also served as faculty at the community college and the high school levels.

Dr. Mary Ann Coughlin Assistant Vice-President for Academic Affairs Springfield College Springfield, MA
Dr. Mary Ann Coughlin is the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. She has served at the College since 1993, where she has attained the rank of Professor of Research and Statistics. Across her tenure at Springfield College, Mary Ann has served in a variety of positions; serving as a faculty member, President of the Faculty Senate, and her more recent administrative position in Academic Affairs. Across these positions, she has supervised academic support services and provided leadership for outcomes assessment initiatives, academic progress reviews, and the development of a data infrastructure for institutional research. Coughlin has also served as an institutional research consultant to many organizations.
Coughlin is a Past President of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR). In addition to being well known within AIR for her training and workshops in the area of statistics, serving as a faculty member for the Foundations Institute and the Statistics Institute, she has also contributed significantly to the development of training materials and resources on the use f data tools for the Integrated Postsecondary Data System (IPEDS). Mary Ann has been an active leader in the institutional research community as she is a Past President of the Northeast Association for Institutional Research (NEAIR) and was awarded the NEAIR Distinguished Service Award. |
