Online Education

AIR offers a variety of online learning opportunities for higher education professionals, including a wide selection of books and monographs. AIR's online workshops and seminars provide continuing education and training without the restrictions of physical classrooms or busy schedules.
As the world’s largest association serving institutional research and related fields, AIR provides an unparalleled collection of professional publications to support excellence in the field and promote wise, data-informed decision making in the higher education community. The AIR eLibrary is a hub for members to view AIR publications and to access AIR-affiliated publications.
Data & Decisions Academy courses provide self-paced, online professional development for institutional researchers.  Academy courses build IR skills needed to support data-informed decision making. The courses are accessible without travel or special software, and are designed for busy employees who need on-the-job and on-the-go training. AIR members receive discounts and priority registration for Data & Decisions Academy courses.
AIR provides video tutorials to assist institutional researchers in the collecting and reporting of data through IPEDS surveys. The tutorials offer overviews of the process as well as step-by-step guidance for completing the IPEDS surveys and using the IPEDS Data Tools to extract data.
IPEDS Educator Web Conferences
Throughout the year, IPEDS Educators participate in web conferences to lean more about higher education data and how they relate to institutional decision making and policy discussions at the state and national levels. AIR invites presenters from various agencies who offer timely and relevant information to IPEDS Educators.

AIR also offers in-person IPEDS training workshops to assist IR professionals in the use of IPEDS tools.
The National Science Foundation's Division of Science Resources Statistics (SRS) designs, supports, and directs periodic surveys as well as a variety of other data collections and research projects. Here you will find tutorials to assist you in learning more about two SRS databases: SESTAT and WebCASPAR.
