The Outstanding Service Award recognizes a member for professional leadership and exemplary service to AIR and for having actively supported and facilitated the goals and mission of the Association. This award may be awarded posthumously.
A nominee for the Outstanding Service Award must have been an AIR member for at least five years and not a member of, nor a candidate for, the Board of Directors during the year of nomination. In addition, the nominee must meet at least two of the following three general criteria categories:
- Has been a member of an AIR committee or board
- Has been an officer of or a recognized leader in the establishment of a regional, provincial, state, or special interest group that is associated with AIR.
- Has made a professional contribution to AIR by being actively involved in a combination of the following:
- Presented at the AIR Forum.
- Organized, offered, or acted as a primary participant in workshops at the AIR Forum, AIR regional workshops, or workshops sponsored by affiliated AIR groups.
- Participated in seminars at the AIR Forum.
- Contributed in some other specific and significant way that has advanced the professionalism of AIR.
Nominations should include supporting documentation, including the candidate's curriculum vitae and three supporting letters of recommendation.
Nomination Materials
A complete nomination package includes:
At least three letters of recommendation from current AIR members. The primary nominator should ask at least two other AIR members to provide a letter of recommendation.
Curriculum vitae or resume from nominee.
A narrative detailing the nominee’s contributions and how the candidate meets the criteria for this award.
It will be the responsibility of the member submitting the nomination to provide all required materials.
