The Code of Ethics (COE) of the Association for Institutional Research was developed to provide members of the Association with some broad ethical statements with which to guide their professional lives and to identify relevant considerations when ethical uncertainties arise. The COE was adopted by the AIR membership on 12/18/1992, and updated on 12/14/2001. It was amended and updated on 5/2/2013 and the title was changed to Code of Ethics and Professional Practice by the Board of Directors upon recommendation from a committee drawn from AIR members.
