If you are a survey contact and you did not receive the emailed survey notice, please contact Vachelle Manly, Data Collection Manager, at mailto:vmanly@usnews.com. THE RANKINGS/GUIDE IS SCHEDULED TO BE PUBLISHED THE WEEK OF AUGUST 20, 2007 and online approximately August 17, 2007. In mid-August, U.S. News will again update AIR members on the details of the data release. Any school that completes the U.S. News Main or Financial Aid survey will get a free 12-month pass, starting in mid-August 2007, to the U.S. News Best Colleges premium online web site. U.S. NEWS AND THE NEW BASIC CARNEGIE CLASSIFICATIONS: In late February 2006, the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education released the revised "basic classification" of higher education institutions. U.S. News has always used the Carnegie Classification as the basis for our America's Best Colleges ranking categories. U.S. News has decided to follow the "basic" Carnegie Classification as of February 2007 for the upcoming rankings, to be published in August 2007 called the 2008 edition of America's Best Colleges. As a result, some colleges have changed U.S. News ranking categories from last year. RANKING QUESTIONS: If you have questions about the U.S. News rankings, U.S. News and the Basic Carnegie Classifications or the U.S. News peer assessment surveys, contact Bob Morse, Director of Data Research at mailto:bmorse@usnews.com. In advance, U.S. News would like to thank AIR members for participating in the current U.S. News Best Colleges data collection. We fully understand that it takes a lot of work to fill out surveys.
