Your Resource: IR in the Know

Developed each month for eAIR by a dedicated team of AIR volunteers, IR in the Know keeps you up to date on current and emerging issues related to higher education.

Since 2012, the member-written IR in the Know has featured brief write-ups related to data collection, analyses, and reporting, with links to more detailed information. IR in the Know is presented in three categories:

  1. Reports and Tools offers summaries of resources and research useful to IR professionals;

  2. Emerging Trends presents information on developing ideas and discussions from the field; and

  3. Policy Watch alerts readers to national policy news.

IRintheKnow.pngRecent topics have included: job market information for graduates, NCES/IPEDS updates, trends in college spending, Carnegie Classifications, College Scorecard, improving opportunities for African American and Hispanic students, graduation rates, student loan debt, persistence and attainment, FAFSA simplification, increasing community college student transfer rates, trends in higher education, and many more.

IR in the Know is consistently one of the top five most-read features of eAIR. Visit the IR in the Know page for timely information for your institution and IR department.
