Race/Ethnicity Discussion BLOG
Welcome to the BLOG on the new IPEDS race/ethnicity standards. This tool, created by the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) with support from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), was designed to assist institutional researchers, IPEDS Keyholders, and others responsible for IPEDS data. Whether your interest is in collection, storage, reporting, and/or usage of IPEDS data, it is our hope that you will avail yourself of the opportunity to learn from the discussions and commentary on this web site.
Here’s how our BLOG works.
View Questions and Answers/Discussion: An index of existing BLOG discussions will be displayed along with notation of the number of comments for each. Select questions of interest to read answers from the BLOG moderators and ensuing threaded discussion.
Ask a Question: Submit a question in the space provided. It will be directed to a panel of moderators who will provide answers in cooperation with staff from the NCES. Anyone can submit a question. Selected questions will be posted along with an answer from the moderators.
Submit a Comment: Once a response is posted to a question, registered/validated users may post comments to continue discussion around the particular question. Viewers should note that comments from the field are the opinions of the contributors and may not conform to the standards established by NCES or best practices suggested by the moderator. AIR reserves the right to remove or edit comments at its discretion.
Note – This forum is for questions of interest to a range of institutional researchers and will be posted, along with answers, on the Website. Questions that are specific only to a single campus are not appropriate for this Website.
