Effective Reporting, First Edition by Trudy Bers and Jeff Sybert
This book focuses on written reports, the use of graphics and charts and oral presentations.
The authors explain the importance of how a report is presented, as well
as the substance can determine its success.
The following color graphics are supportive to the black and white charts in the publication.
With this volume of the Resources in Institutional
Research book series, the AIR Publications Committee is introducing the
use of the Web to enhance the contents of its publications. A major
component of this volume is devoted to the development and use of effective
graphics in presenting comparative and trend data. As the authors,
Trudy Bers and Jeffrey Seybert, point out, the decision to use or not to
use color in a presentation or report may influence the audience’s perceptions
of the presenter’s professionalism, in spite of the content quality. We
think that the graphic illustrations contained in this “electronic appendix”
will increase the usefulness of the book.
