Job Duties: The role of the Assistant Director, Assessment Programs is to assist StudentVoice member campuses with the development, design, and administration of assessment projects. The Assistant Director, Assessment Programs will report to the Director of Assessment Programs. Responsibilities: Reviewing assessment projects submitted by StudentVoice member campuses to ensure projects will meet the intended goals. Developing assessment projects in consultation with higher education professionals at StudentVoice member campuses, as well as national associations. Communicating with campuses via email and phone on a variety of topics including: * StudentVoice assessment tools and resources * Assessment project quality (e.g., correct scales, appropriate questions for the information they are seeking, potential additional questions, appropriate and complete answer choices, etc.) * Project administration methods * Data analysis and reporting * Assessment best practices * StudentVoice benchmarking studies and other initiatives Working directly with a team of Coordinators to ensure assessment projects are built in a timely fashion and are of high quality and accuracy. May be required to visit campuses and/or attend conferences to represent StudentVoice. Assisting the Director of Assessment Programs with projects, as assigned. Qualifications: Through a minimum of two to five years of work experience, with a minimum of two to three years experience in higher education or student affairs administration, preferably with responsibilities for assessment, one should possess the following skills and characteristics:
Demonstrated knowledge of assessment techniques, strategies, and data analysis. Ability to summarize and present complex analysis of data to varied audiences and constituents. Strong analytic skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as experience communicating and interacting with various audiences in higher education, including senior administrators. Ability to organize projects and multi-task with a high attention to detail. Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Ability to bring individual strengths to the role, while also working effectively with others in a group setting. Enthusiastic, pro-active, and positive leader who inspires and manages change with urgency. Ability to take risks, seek new insights, and keep an open mind. Ability to navigate unforeseen obstacles and to change tactics quickly when necessary. A proven desire and commitment to obtain new knowledge and expertise through continuing education, new challenges, and experiences. Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
Education: A Masters Degree or equivalent in a related field is required.
This position is located in Buffalo, NY and cannot be done remotely from another location.
