Job Duties: Roanoke College is seeking a Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment. The Director chairs the Administrative Assessment Council, serves as a member of and supports the Academic Assessment Council, oversees the Program Evaluation process, provides guidance and consulting for all assessment efforts and for reaccreditation efforts for specified programs, and works to ensure institutional effectiveness throughout the College by overseeing that process, ensuring that Institutional Effectiveness Plans are in compliance with SACS requirements, and ensuring the documenting of assessment results and their use in planning and budgeting and quality improvement.

Specific duties and responsibilities of the position include overseeing the continuous development and implementation of the Institutional Effectiveness Plan; guiding College efforts to satisfy the requirements of SACS; providing general support to the College's assessment program; coordinating the Program Evaluation Panel reviews of academic programs; designing data collection instruments and assisting with conducting surveys; overseeing the College plan for academic assessment; serving as a clearinghouse for program assessment reports and supporting reaccreditation efforts in the Business Administration, Athletic Training, Education, and Chemistry programs; working on the maintenance of a comprehensive institutional assessment database; and providing for the assessment education of faculty and staff.

Qualifications: A Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred. The successful candidate will have experience in outcomes assessment and measurement, competence in statistical and analytical research methods as well as experience with data collection, analysis, and report preparation. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with faculty and administrative staff are also required.
