Job Duties: Reporting directly to the Director of the Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP), the CIRP Assistant Director is responsible for managing projects involving the range of surveys conducted under the Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP) umbrella at the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) in the Graduate School of Education & Information Studies. Primary responsibilities include: survey development, project management, customer relations/communications, and reporting and dissemination of findings. Survey projects currently include: the CIRP Freshman Survey that contains 43 years of data on over 13 million college students as the nation's longest running and largest survey of college students, the Your First College Year Survey, the College Student Survey, and the triennial HERI Faculty Survey. HERI is an interdisciplinary center for research, evaluation, information, policy studies, and research training in postsecondary education. HERI's research program covers a variety of topics including the outcomes of postsecondary education, leadership development, faculty performance, federal and state policy, and educational equity. Supervise 2-3 Graduate Student Research Assistants. Qualifications: Advanced degree in a related field (education, psychology, sociology)strongly preferred. Experience in an institutional research setting administering surveys and communicating results is strongly prefered. Excellent organizational and communication skills required. Working knowledge of outcomes of postsecondary education,leadership development, faculty performance, federal and state policy, and educational equity. Working knowledge of higher education research and organizations, survey design and administration, and institutional assessment activities. Demonstrated working knowledge of institutions of higher education with its structure and organization sufficient to cooperatively and collegially work with representatives of the colleges and universities that use CIRP surveys.
