Job Title: ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT OF RESEARCH & ACCOUNTABILITY - University of Maryland College University, Adelphi, MD

Institution: Reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Planning, Research & Accountability the Associate Vice President of Institutional Planning, Research & Accountability will provide day to day oversight for the staff responsible for conducting research and studies on the institution and support the decision making of the University’s senior administrators. This position will provide oversight for the University’s Enterprise Data Warehouse and the development of the reporting platform (Business Objects). Working with key units of the University, this position will oversee the development of performance metrics and dash board indicators. The Associate Vice President will oversee the tracking and analytics of the marketing campaigns for student enrollments, and provide leadership for the quality of the data used in the analyses, including an understanding of the business processes, leading to the data loaded into the University’s transactional system (PeopleSoft).

Job Duties: The primary functions of this position will include:

1. Overseeing the development and expansion of UMUC’s business intelligence infrastructure and ensuring data integrity.
2. Assisting with developing the strategies needed to expand the analytic and report functions.
3. Working with staff to explore and expand the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and the Enterprise Reporting Platform.
4. Reviewing the development of specific models and metrics to provide critical information to assess the progress of strategic initiatives /objectives as determined by the University’s executives.
5. Ensuring the systematic approach in the evaluation and assessment of key University functions and operational units while meeting established deadlines.
6. Collaborating with various departments and senior administrators to identify means of analyzing University’s strategic goals and objectives.
7. Performing other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Requires a Master’s degree (PhD preferred), demonstrated professionalism, and supervisory and management experience; strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills; excellent interpersonal and communication competencies; time management and organizational skills. Requires a collaborative positive leadership style in a goal-oriented, fast-paced environment. A minimum of seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in administration, research and / or planning is required. Technical skills using quantitative software such as SPSS/SAS, SQL, Access, Excel, and Oracle are essential. Familiarity with PeopleSoft, as well as experience in the design and deployment of datamarts and warehouses preferred. Position is available immediately and will remain open until filled.
