Job Title: DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH - National-Louis University, Wheeling, IL

Institution: National-Louis University was founded as the National College of Education in 1886. Today, NLU serves nearly 12,000 students from five Chicago area campuses, in addition to campuses in three states and Europe. Three colleges comprise NLU - the National College of Education, the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Management and Business. As we continue our stride towards excellence, we are in search of a Director of Institutional Research.

Job Duties: The Director of Institutional Research will lead the Institutional Research team to collect, analyze and report data and information in support of the University's mission, decision-making and planning process. Specific responsibilities will include: Consult with faculty, administrators, and staff to identify data and information requirements and to develop institutional and unit-level effectiveness indicators; Provide leadership for the Institutional Research team; Oversee the administration of institutional surveys; analyze and report survey data for planning, program evaluation and institutional effectiveness studies; Work with the Office of Information Technology to design data marts and data warehouses to support institutional research; Develop and coordinate processes to ensure validity of institutional data and reports; Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in the field of higher education and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Power Point. Strong consulting skills including development of customer requirements and needs. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as the ability to present to a variety of audiences. Five years of experience with higher education including accreditation and/or quality improvement. Team player, with demonstrated experience working across functional boundaries. A master's degree in research, quantitative fields, social science, education, or a related field required; a Ph.D. is preferred. The successful candidate will understand the higher education context and be versed in quality improvement. The ideal candidate will have worked for an Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) institution and will have played a role in quality improvement exercises.
