The Office of Assessment and Institutional Research (OAIR) at Longwood serves the University community by coordinating the ongoing, integrated, and institution-wide evaluation and research processes that incorporate systematic review of programs and services that result in continuing improvement, and demonstrate that the institution is effectively accomplishing its mission. OAIR is also responsible for developing and maintaining the institution's electronic data repository and fact book, fulfilling the report requirements of the federal, state, regional and various professional accreditation agencies, and coordinating university-wide assessment/evaluation of academic and non-academic program/services. Job Duties: As a member of OAIR team, the coordinator reports to the OAIR director. The primary responsibilities of the position include but not limited to: (1) planning and coordinating assessment activities to satisfy the requirements that are imposed by various regulatory agencies as well as accrediting agencies; (2) supporting both academic and non-academic programs' assessment data collection and reporting; (3) supporting institutional assessment report on Institutional Performance Standards (IPS), core-competency measures for general education program, departmental program assessment and reviews; (4) Managing university wide annual report via WEAVEonline; (5) taking part in the enrollment forecasting and modeling, retention and graduation rate studies; (6) designing and producing the Longwood University Fact Book; and (7) maintaining the OAIR website Qualifications: Master’s degree in education research, higher education, or related field with significant work experience in academic program assessment with higher educational institution(s). Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge of academic program data collection, quantitative analysis, and basic knowledge of qualitative inquiry; competency with software tools such as MS Office suite and SPSS; excellent communication skills; and the ability to work collaboratively with others including students, faculty, staff, and external constituents.
