GENERAL INFORMATION Marysville is located in the northern Sacramento Valley, approximately 40 miles north of Sacramento, less than a one hour drive, and approximately a two hour drive from San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. The area offers many forms of recreational activities ranging from museums to hunting and fishing to boating and skiing. The size of the community and its affordable housing make it an ideal area to live in and raise a family. Also, California State Universities at Chico and Sacramento and the University of California at Davis are an hour from Marysville. Job Duties: Under the direction of the College President, serve as the College administrator responsible for planning, developing, directing, evaluating and conducting institutional research. According to District policies and procedures implement and monitor planning and research activities to positively impact student outcomes; coordinate implementation of the College strategic plan, and provide leadership in other major planning efforts.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This is an Academic Management position that is assigned responsibility for: conceptualization, design, execution, and coordination of research to support the planning and evaluation of all programs and services through the continuing assessment and analysis of student needs. Public contact is extensive and primarily includes staff and outside resources for the purpose of compiling, documenting, formatting and reporting data relevant to specific studies and projects. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity is required to analyze complex data and arrive at recommendations relevant to the College and District mission.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: • Exchange information with College and District staff, students, other educational institutions, community and business representatives, governmental agencies and organizations regarding historical and projected student trends, marketing resources, employment rates, work place or employment needs, enrollment, matriculation, demographics, student retention, transfer, vocational and other related factors of education life and related data; make presentations to small and large groups on topics related to College and District planning and student outcomes. • Collaborate with District Director of Institutional Effectiveness; coordinate and monitor the ongoing development and implementation of the College strategic plan and educational master plan; ensure the development of objectives and consistently reporting the outcomes; coordinate a systematic and integrated institutional planning process that is aligned with accreditation and other planning related requirements; coordinate the development of student learning outcomes by faculty and staff; assist faculty and staff utilizing various forms of assessment of SLOs and render appropriate analyses and feedback. • Provide leadership in the development of policies and procedures for planning and research in conjunction with District and College goals and missions; manage assigned budget for the research office; provide consultation, support and/or technical assistance on specific research projects for divisions, departments and individual faculty. • Compile, analyze & maintain statistical & other data for reports related to matriculation, enrollment, retention, tracking of grants, student & other demographics, student success & transfer rates; format, prepare and present a variety of statistical & other reports as assigned using analytical & other computer software; coordinate responses to surveys and reports required by external agencies and other ongoing efforts of the College to measure its effectiveness. • Train, direct and evaluate the work of professional, clerical and other staff as assigned; make recommendations for the employment and retention of staff. • Monitor educational research studies and external educational databases and disseminate relevant findings to College and District personnel; provide leadership in the design, implementation and analysis of student satisfaction surveys, campus climate and community surveys. • Participate in the development of educational partnerships; serve on State, District & College committees & councils as designated by the Chief Executive Officer. • Participate as a regular member of the management group.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for Administrators at California Community Colleges: • Possession of a master’s degree; AND • One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: All prospective Academic, Administrative and Classified employees shall be required to provide fingerprints to the District for the purpose of obtaining a criminal history as authorized by the California Education Code and all fees are the responsibility of the selected candidates.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Categorically funded positions are contingent upon funding. Smoking is restricted in many areas of the Yuba Community College District. Woodland Community College is a tobacco free campus. Salary/Benefits: The District offers a comprehensive benefits package for employees and dependents, valued at over $13,000 annually with currently no out of pocket expenses to employees or dependents for monthly premiums. The package includes health, dental, vision, two (2) life insurance policies and an Employee Assistance program. SALARY: $74,287 - $86,089/YR. (Range 29, Management Salary Schedule) (Initial placement will not be higher than the above listed salary, the top step for this position is $99,870/YR.)
