For more information, please visit our Web site. Job Duties: The position is three-quarter time (0.75) and grant funded with a limited term of up to two years.
The Project Coordinator will provide support for a major NASULGC initiative—the Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA). The VSA is a commitment by public four-year universities to supply basic, comparable information on the undergraduate student experience to important constituencies through a common report—the College Portrait-www.collegeportraits.org. The VSA is beginning its second full year of implementation and has more than 315 participating institutions.
The Project Coordinator will work with the VSA Director and Vice President of Academic Affairs to plan and deliver the seminars for VSA participants as well as compile, analyze, and disseminate the outcomes. The Project Coordinator will also provide support and technical assistance to VSA participants as they publish their College Portraits.
For the seminars, the Project Coordinator will perform a variety of professional level functions—including the logistical arrangements for the six seminars (3 in the summer of 2009 and 3 in summer of 2010) and for ensuring seminars stay within budget constraints. The Project Coordinator will be an active member of the team that plans and delivers the seminars as well as compiles and distributes the outcomes. The Project Coordinator will gather and compile the data from a pre-seminar survey in order to better design the agenda around campus experiences. During the seminars the Project Coordinator will help to facilitate break-out groups and to compile notes on the conversations. After the seminars, the Project Coordinator will also help in analyzing and compiling the results and assembling them for online distribution.
The Project Coordinator will work as part of the College Portrait Support and Development Team and serve as a primary liaison with VSA participants—providing technical support and assistance as well as gathering feedback on any difficulties they experience in satisfying VSA requirements. Qualifications: Required: • Three to five years of work experience in higher education or related field • A master’s degree in a relevant field or a bachelor’s degree with commensurate work experience • Demonstrated skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis, including descriptive statistics • Proven analytical and computing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access • Demonstrated outstanding communication skills—interpersonal, public speaking, and written • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team • Willingness to travel several times per year
Preferred: • Experience in the field of institutional research • Experience working with IPEDS, the Common Data Set, and/or other education data sources • Experience with the administration of student testing/assessment/evaluation instruments and the analysis and interpretation of results • Experience planning and coordinating workshops or conferences • Experience designing and using web applications to deliver data and information.
