Job Duties: Applications are being accepted for a full-time Institutional Reporting and Data Associate at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac campus. This position is responsible for managing state reporting efforts for the College and for facilitating and assuring compliance with state reporting requirements. This position develops, generates, analyzes, interprets and disseminates institutional data for use in planning and evaluation of institutional effectiveness. This position reports to the Vice President - Strategic Advancement.
Responsible for state reporting (client reporting, contract reporting and costing/staff accounting) efforts for the College to include development and implementation of recommendations regarding compliance with state reporting requirements and submittal and correction of state reporting data, in accordance with State guidelines.
Analyze, research and interpret information from the State relating to state reporting and College compliance. Act as liaison with the State Office on matters relating to state reporting. Communicate changes in state reporting process or requirements to appropriate College staff and work with staff to modify College processes accordingly.
Responsible for working collaboratively with Information Technology staff and functional leads to develop data structures which will assist in state reporting. Work with College staff to design data collection methods to ensure timely and accurate data collection.
Develop queries from Banner Operational Data Store (ODS) and Executive Data Warehouse (EDW) using Cognos and Argos to generate data and reports. Develop and maintain accessible data cubes and reports for use at all levels College-wide.
Work with Data Warehouse Associate to define data requirements that will ensure the correct correlation of modeling requirements with data structures. Maintain historical and comparative data; conduct data verification to ensure data accuracy and validity.
Responsible for creating and managing the extraction of data and reporting for compliance and benchmarking to include the quality review process, measures of efficiency reports, and MPTC Key Performance Indicators.
Complete and submit reports and surveys mandated or requested by the WTCS Board Office and external agencies, adhering to the strict guidelines established by these entities.
Validate information and assure data is credible in identifying institutional and market trends, including demographic and occupational information.
Maintain documentation of research methodologies established including cohort group development.
Perform data mining and analysis of student cohorts to create profiles based on academic and demographic records. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Statistical Computer Programming or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and occupational experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
Four years directly related experience in data collection, data and statistical analysis, data mining, reporting, planning, institutional research and continuous improvement. Experience with enterprise software such as Banner, Datatel, PeopleSoft; Banner experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to use a variety of software tools, including SQL, to extract, analyze and report on data from multiple data sources. Cognos and data modeling experience preferred.
Skill and experience in collecting, verifying and working with research data.
Proficiency with MS Office and statistical software packages.
Experience researching and compiling IPEDS and other state and federal reports. Experience researching and compiling WTCS State Office reports preferred.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers.
Ability to work in a team-based, highly participative environment. Experience leading and facilitating project/work teams. Salary/Benefits: D2 ($48,355 - $72,505) Based on a 247-day contract.
