Job Title: DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS - Volunteer State Community College, Gallatin, TN Deadline Date: Open Until Filled Starting Date: June 1, 2009 Institution: Volunteer State Community College is a public two-year community college in Gallatin, Tennessee, just north of Nashville, serving approximately 7,000 students across a twelve-county region area including the counties of Clay, Davidson, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Robertson, Smith, Sumner, Trousdale and Wilson. Job Duties: This position will provide leadership and expertise in the implementation of institutional effectiveness processes to include survey design and interpretation, uses of assessment outcomes, and integration of benchmarking tools into the IE functions of the institution. Examples of essential job functions of this position are:
* Provide leadership in the implementation of the College's institutional effectiveness processes; * Research, identify, and provide information on potential assessment and outcome measures, and benchmarking tools; * Provide information concerning the College and community in developing statistical data to support institutional effectiveness and strategic planning; * Review IE plans to ensure SACS compliance; * Provide assistance and direction in the administration of institutional effectiveness initiatives; * Design, administer, and interpret surveys; * Provide institutional effectiveness workshops and training for faculty and staff; * Maintain knowledge of assessment, outcomes, and benchmarking sources and tools; * Act as a clearinghouse for internal and external surveys; * Provides support to the strategic planning process and assessment activities. Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field with a minimum of two years in higher education experience or an equivalent mix of experience and academic credentials; In-depth knowledge of institutional effectiveness processes, survey design and assessment methods; Good analytical and strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and ability to relate to a variety of individuals; Excellent written and oral communication skills, time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines; and Proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet and Outlook.
