Job Duties: This position reports directly to the Director of Institutional Research and provides high-level analytical and writing skills to support the functions of the Office of Institutional Research.
General Responsibilities: • Design, coordinate, conduct, and analyze research that supports effective decision making within the University.
• Design and conduct research studies with particular emphasis on student outcomes research that addresses concerns such as student learning, student success, student satisfaction, student tracking, non-returning students and student persistence, and other student-related issues as requested by departments, divisions, and administrators throughout the University.
• Conduct various other types of research, analyze various types of data, and develop useful reports on research projects to support effective decision-making throughout the University.
• Participate in research activities with other institutions, organizations, and agencies to develop, collect, and report on benchmarking data to support effective decision making throughout the University.
• Interact and collaborate with deans, department chairs, directors, faculty, administrators, and community members to identify and respond to the research needs of the University.
• Plan and Coordinate faculty Assignment of Responsibility activities that are handled by the Office of Institutional Research.
• Provide support for data requests and other Institutional Requests activities as assigned.
• Work with Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) staff and University Data Custodians to ensure the quality and integrity of data in all internal data resources used by the University Community.
• Develop and deliver oral presentations for both internal and external groups.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Institutional Research or his designee. Qualifications: • Thorough knowledge of general research methodology. • Knowledge of standard statistical procedures of sampling, correlation analysis, regression analysis, projections, and other qualitative and quantitative measures applied to education and social research. • Intimate familiarity with institutional research. • Knowledge of statistical analysis software such as SPSS and SAS • Ability to apply relational databases • Ability to research and survey data • Ability to solve problems • Ability to work independently and make decisions • Ability to work effectively as part of a team • Effective time management skills • Excellent written and oral communication skills Salary/Benefits: Competitive salary with great benefits.
