Job Title: DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH - Blinn College, Brenham, TX

Job Duties:
* To provide timely and accurate information to the administration in support of the planning, budgeting, assessment and decision-making processes at the college.

* Coordinates, compiles, analyzes, interprets and reports an extensive range of quantitative and qualitative data on all facets of the college and related educational issues, including areas such as institutional characteristics, enrollments, student retention and transfer activities, educational forecasts (e.g., enrollment projections), final grades and other student performance indicators, fiscal affairs and student matters.

* Collaborates with the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness on quality improvement initiatives, including revision of IR& E processes in response to identified needs and goals of the institution.

* Responds to a variety of institutional data requests from other personnel of the college, as well as information requests from external agencies.

* Coordinates and prepares responses to Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) reports and other institutional statistical profiles to external agencies.

* Consults and assists the administration and faculty in the design, execution, interpretation and reporting of findings of institutional research studies.

* Participates in the college's institutional planning and program review processes by coordinating with the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness to provide information related to the individual program goal setting process in each of the college's functional units in support of a comprehensive, unified institutional program review and improvement process.

* Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
* The ability to proactively identify, design and conduct research studies in support of College management and improvement.

* Good interpersonal and organizational skills.

* Strong computer, quantitative and analytical skills.

* The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in numerical, graphical and narrative form.

* Good verbal communication skills.

* The abililty to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.

* Skill in management of multiple concurrent research projects.

* Working knowledge of the planning and evaluation processes in higher education.

* Masters degree in an area requiring strong data analysis skills.

* Experience with conducting research studies in higher education.

* Experience using spreadsheet and statistical software, including Excel, SPSS, and other PC software.

* Experience with planning and evaluation in higher education.

Preferred:

* Doctoral degree in an area requiring strong data analysis skills.

* Previous experience in community college institutional research.

* Experience with Achieving the Dream initiatives.

* Experience with IPEDS data reports.

Salary/Benefits:
Salary minimum is $46,395 but upper range is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
