Check Temple out at our Web site. Job Duties: The Associate Director supervises the work of four to six researchers. Among other responsibilities, the Associate Director will develop and maintain statistical reporting systems to support the strategic planning activities of the Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management. Organize and summarize data into useful reports. Prepare the annual Officer’s Book of University Statistics, the Fact Sheet, and other reports of key performance indicators. Prepare reports based on information requests from senior administrators, government agencies, and accreditors. Coordinate responses to external surveys from governmental agencies, associations, and college guidebooks (e.g., IPEDS, US News and World Report, etc.) Prepare reports based on external comparisons to peer institutions. Serve on the University’s Data Standards Committee. Ensure that all reports are based on consistent, timely, and accurate data. Oversee the development and maintenance of project documentation; maintain project management systems. Serve as liaison to the Office of Computer Services in establishing and maintaining a data warehouse. Represent the department in the planning and implementation of the SunGardHE Banner computer system. Design programs and queries for data analysis. Facilitate web-based and hard copy dissemination of reports and other institutional research results. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience: Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in social science, educational research, or related field Demonstrated effective experience in institutional research at the post-secondary level Demonstrated effective supervisory and project management experience.
Required Skills and Abilities: * Strong data management skills including the ability to manage large data sets * Excellent customer service skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot and solve data analysis problems. * Ability to work independently; as well as on teams in a fast paced team environment. * Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work at a level that requires high attention to detail and data accuracy * Ability to manage projects and staff well * Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other applications software.
Preferred: * Strong consideration will be given to those with experience in the areas of program evaluation and assessment and to those who have experience with relational databases, SPSS (or SAS), SQL, and web application programs.
