Job Title: RELATIONSHIP MANAGER FOR MENTORING - United Negro College Fund, Fairfax, VA Deadline Date: May 5, 2009 Starting Date: Institution: UNCF – the United Negro College Fund – the largest minority higher education assistance organization in the United States, seeks a Relationship Manager for Mentoring in the Leadership Department of the Gates Millennium Scholars Program. Initially funded by a $1 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the goal of GMS is to promote academic excellence and to provide an opportunity for outstanding minority students with significant financial need to reach their highest potential. Job Duties: The Relationship Manager for Mentoring creates and advances the GMS mentoring program by fostering relationships between and among Scholars, Alumni, partners, colleges/universities and external organizations. The Relationship Manager will play a key role in planning, developing, scheduling, implementing and evaluating programs and curriculum that serve to market the mentoring program, training stakeholders and assessing program participation. Responsibilities include fostering relationships with key education and non-profit entities and providing information and training for GMS staff and partner organizations as needed. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university, advanced degree preferred; with three years of related mentoring, peer support/counseling or related experience and a proven record of experience in developing and implementing leadership training education programs.
