Job Title: RESEARCH ASSOCIATE II - University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN Deadline Date: Open Until Filled Starting Date: July 6, 2009 Institution: The University of Tennessee, Knoxville & Office of Institutional Research & Assessment Job Duties: The primary responsibility for this position will be to work as support for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools’ (SACS) Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) assessment activities. This position is responsible for coordinating and/or assisting with the development, implementation, and analysis of assessment activities in conjunction with the QEP. Other assessment-related projects related to the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment, such as the Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA), THEC performance funding, and other ad hoc assessment projects, may be added as needed. This is a full-time, exempt staff position that reports directly to the Assistant Director of Institutional Research and Assessment. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, statistics, educational research or other field relevant to assessment; highly developed computing skills; knowledge of assessment-related activities including, but not limited to, quantitative instrument design and administration, data analysis, and qualitative assessment techniques; familiarity with PC software including Word, Excel, and Access; excellent communications and presentations skills; ability to perform multiple tasks, attend to detail, and observe deadlines. Will consider a Bachelor’s degree in other disciplines with demonstrated substantive experience and knowledge in the other required qualifications.
Desirable Qualifications: Master’s degree with an assessment-related background. Previous experience in an assessment office or similar higher education environment; expertise in conducting quantitative and qualitative assessment research; knowledge of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) as it relates to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation process.
