Job Duties: The Senior Research Associate is responsible for managing data collection processes related to the assessment of student learning outcomes and programmatic goals; providing training for faculty and staff in the use of assessment mechanisms; performing quantitative and qualitative analyses on internal and external data; accurately completing “time sensitive” surveys such as the IPEDS, U.S. News, Common Data Set and Peterson’s Guide surveys; managing data collection and completing the Institutional Fact Book; assisting the Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness in the design, execution, and analysis of special research projects; providing data support for periodic program reviews and program specific accreditation; navigating and extracting data reports from Banner; collaborating with other institutions and agencies to collect benchmarking data; summarizing results of data analysis for constituents using a variety of softwares and a mixture of text, detailed graphs, and tables. Qualifications: Qualified applicants will possess a master’s degree with experience in social science research which includes data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and reporting. Relevant experience in fields such as assessment, computer science, educational administration, or statistics is required. Applicants must demonstrate effectiveness in preparing accurate reports, using research design software, conducting oral presentations, and using collaborative problem-solving skills. Strong preference will be afforded applicants with prior experience in institutional research or outcomes assessment in higher education, and familiarity with the SACS and NCATE accreditation processes. Applicants must also have an understanding of data analysis software (i.e. SPSS or SAS) and have the ability to prepare well-written informative reports.
