Job Duties: This position is an integral part of the College’s department of Planning and Institutional Research. Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, the department is responsible for managing College research and institutional planning functions, and providing direction on the identification and establishment of College needs in accordance with the College mission statement and the College Plan.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serves as a primary resource for the support, implementation, and dissemination of research project requests and results
• Proposes and performs advanced research applied to institutional research data including:
• data retrieval and analysis
• reporting of aggregate student and course statistics
• institutional effectiveness data and statistics
• Proposes new and updates existing data for College performance indicators of success
• Conducts research studies and analyzes data to support
• College goals
• improve understanding of student success indicators
• Supports College program and services review processes using inferential and descriptive statistical techniques
• Presents data to administrators, standing committees, other appropriate College employees, and external audiences using written and oral skills
• Researches and evaluates components of the College Plan
• Recommends student learning outcome assessment goals and objectives

Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
• Advanced research methods, including
• research design
• data integrity issues
• diverse numerical analysis methodologies
• Statistical analysis software and concepts
• Forecasting programs
• Programming experience or SQL
• Effective and appropriate communication methods for reporting complex research results to diverse audiences

Ability to:
• Conduct research and perform detailed analyses using inferential and descriptive statistics, as well as qualitative measures
• Works with large, complex relational databases
• create queries to retrieve and analyze data
• report findings
• Develops recommendations, goals and objectives based on findings
• Communicates advanced research results to technical and non-technical audiences clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
• Development of reports and statistical summaries for all audiences
• Directs and participates in team project activities with College staff
• Establishes and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of working including all groups within a diverse, multicultural community

Experience, Education and Licensing:
• Master’s degree and three years of progressively responsible research experience in applied science, engineering or other numerical research discipline
• Or a combination of education and applied experience demonstrating success performing the essential duties and responsibilities identified in this job announcement

Salary/Benefits:
SALARY: $57,388
GRADE: C44
This is a Exempt position as defined under the Fair Labor Standards Act
HOURS: 37.5 per week, 12 months per year
