Job Duties: The Director of Institutional Research is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the formal institutional research function that supports college-wide planning and institutional effectiveness activities; conducting research studies to inform policy development and management decision-making; establishing and maintaining a cycle of standard institutional reports for use in responding to internal and external requests for data; coordinating the schedule of analysis of student and employee surveys and supporting outcomes assessment and program review process.

• Conduct institutional research and analysis, prepare reports and complete surveys for both internal and external audiences (i.e. US News & World Report, The College Board), and provides quality review of and recommendations for collecting and reporting institutional data
• Responsible for developing an annual college data information repository
• Assist with completing program specific accreditation reports
• Help implement and coordinate a comprehensive program of institutional effectiveness to ensure that planning, evaluation assessment, and program reviews occurs throughout the campus in both academic and administrative areas
• Provide quality reviews, survey support, feedback and other assistance for departments and programs in their institutional effectiveness efforts
• Analyze results, prepare reports, recommend continuous improvement processes and makes periodic presentations to faculty and administrators
• Develop and maintain research-related databases as required
• Process Student Evaluations and create individualized reports for faculty each semester
• Gather and analyze peer data for assessment comparisons and update annual reports
• Utilize National Student Clearinghouse for data on accepted, not enrolled,
non-returning students, and recent graduates and create subsequent reports
• Respond to requests from members of the institutional leadership for ad-hoc data gathering and analysis
• Coordinate distribution, collection and analysis of assessment instruments (including online tools) for College outcomes assessment
• Assist academic programs in data collection and analysis for re-accreditation purposes
• Creation and maintenance of on-line files for departmental surveys and on-line elections (faculty, administrators, etc.)
• Run reports of student data from Administrative Database (Jenzabar)
• Work with all areas of the College to direct and conduct institutional research activities; including the design of information gathering instruments, the analysis and assessments of results and the preparation of interpretive reports
• Prepare data summaries and other written presentations for distribution to internal audiences based on research findings and conclusions
• Demonstrate ability to work independently, as well as collegially, with administrators, faculty and other constituents
• Participate in professional organizations, conferences and workshops to keep informed of current ideas, research and practices related to the position
• Access and retrieve data from national databases; e.g. IPEDS, NCES
• Other duties and responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree
• 3-5 years experience in higher education preferred
• Proficient knowledge of SPSS required
• Proficient knowledge of Administrative Software Systems, preferably Jenzabar
• Ability to interpret, analyze and present information from a wide variety of data sources
• Knowledge of SQL, VB Script/Visual Basic, Raisers Edge, and Powerfaids preferred
• Strong abilities in planning and evaluation, learning outcomes assessment, research methodology, statistical data analysis, and computer applications
• Knowledge of and experience with accreditation requirements and processes also preferred
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with individuals and teams
