Job Title: DIRECTOR OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH - San Francisco State University, San Francisco, CA. Deadline Date: June 1, 2009 Starting Date: August 15, 2009 Institution: The Director will be responsible for managing the SF State Office of Institutional Research, which specifically supports the University's commitment to enrollment management, administrative management, assessment, and teaching effectiveness. This responsibility will include working cooperatively with the Provost's management team, deans of the nine colleges, faculty, Academic Senate, support staff,and other appropriate personnel in responding to the data needs that support the University's assessment requirements and academically-related analytical studies. The Director of Institutional Research will report to the Associate Vice President of Academic Planning and Educational Effectiveness. Job Duties: Oversees academically-related institutional research that supports the University's management and decision-making process.Coordinates analytical studies stemming from the University's academic research needs and prioritizes and implements research requests from academic administrators. Provides support for an on-going academic strategic planning process. Works collaboratively with the Office of Enrollment Management. Supervises the work of the research analysts and staff of the IR office, which includes: * Responding to data requests from the Chancellor's Office * Providing data support for program review & accreditation * Coordinating institutional survey development and analysis * Producing an annual institutional data report Qualifications: * Detailed knowledge of data base systems and website development. * Knowledge and experience in coordinating institutional research endeavors in the academic arena. * Ability to understand both micro-level and macro-level needs involved in institutional research and analysis. * An earned master's or doctorate from an accredited institution. * Successful experience at the college or university level. * Effective leadership, management, organizational, and communication skills. * Ability to work collaboratively with all campus units. * Ability to interact effectively in a culturally & ethnically diverse community.
