Job Duties: The Office of Institutional Research seeks an experienced and dynamic candidate for the position of Research Analyst. This is a full-time administrative position; negotiable between 11 and 12 months.

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research, the successful candidate will provide technical, organizational and statistical support for a broad range of data analysis and assessment and be responsible for data management, data reporting and web design and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Accurately extract, organize, verify, summarize and archive data from the institution’s SQL warehouse in support of the office’s longitudinal trend analyses, fact sheets, and other institutional data needs; ensure that information is available, accurate and updated in a timely manner;
• Assist with the development of multi-year archives of institutional and survey data;
• Assist with the redesign and expansion of the current IR website and take responsibility for keeping its content current;
• Prepare, update and expand the collection of comparative data and peer indicators;
• Serve as primary data coordinator for Federal, State, NCAA and other mandatory reporting;
• Respond to ad-hoc requests for institutional data or policies; internally or from external individuals or organizations;
• Represent the office on the Administrative Data Management Planning Team and other committees, as assigned;
• Maintain office files and provide office administrative support as needed.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Essential: Bachelor’s degree with database experience and web development skills
Desirable: Master’s degree in computer science or a related field

EXPERIENCE:
Desirable: Two to three years of employment experience in a related field; work experience in an IR or Registrar’s Office or IT; familiarity with a Higher Education setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Strong quantitative and computer skills, including extensive experiences with relational databases and presentation graphics;
• Expertise in web design and development and familiarity with content management systems (e.g. Drupal);
• Excellent programming skills;
• Scrupulous attention to detail;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to organize, analyze and summarize data and information for multiple audiences;
• Strong oral and written communication skills;
• Ability to work with diverse constituencies and contribute to a team-based environment;
• Ability to handle confidential materials discreetly and professionally on a routine basis;
• Excellent time management skills, ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize workflow in order to meet deadlines.
