The University of Alabama is in the midst of an aggressive growth period as we grow beyond 28,000 students. We are seeking one individual to lead our Division’s assessment and planning efforts as we continue to build a culture of assessment. This full-time 12-month position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and is the lead assessment and planning officer for the Division.

Job Duties: The Director will assist all units including: Student Media, Housing and Residential Communities, Community Service, Counseling Center, Career Center, Blackburn Institute, University Recreation, Ferguson Center Student Union, Judicial Affairs, Student Leadership and Involvement, Greek Life, Dean of Students, New Student and Parent Programs, and Graduate Student Services in meeting our mission to Maximize Each UA Student’s Learning Experience.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have at least a Master’s degree in Higher Education, Public Administration, Management, College Student Personnel, Educational Research, Social Science, Statistics or other relevant field and at least three (3) years full-time successfully demonstrated related experience (institutional research, planning, assessment, forecasting). Doctorate preferred. The preferred candidate will also be willing to thrive in a pluralistic organization and have a broad knowledge of student development theories and their applicability to today's college student. The successful candidate should also be adaptable to change and be future-oriented – this is an innovative office experiencing rapid growth and intentional change.

Salary/Benefits: This position includes tuition reduction and full professional staff university benefits such as reduced cost health insurance and TIAA-CREF matching. Salary is competitive with similar programs.
