Job Duties: Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research and Assessment with responsibility for curriculum and program assessment, this person will support department and office activities related to continuous improvement initiatives and efforts to support and enhance institutional performance and student learning outcomes. Work with academic and nonacademic leadership, departments and programs to assure that ISU meets the assessment requirements of the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and other accrediting organizations. The initial emphasis will be placed on program assessment in anticipation of a November 2010 NCA accreditation visit.
The individual will also work closely with the assessment leadership team and related committees to develop a culture of assessment at Indiana State University.
I. Provide technical support for faculty and staff.
II. Serve supporting role for accreditation activities.
III. Perform data analysis and interpretation, writing as well as disseminating reports.
IV. Work with the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs to coordinate assessment in Academic Affairs.
V. Support web based campus communication activities
VI. Identify professional development needs and collaboration with the Center for Instruction, Research and Technology (CIRT).
VII. Coordinate assessment work and projects.
VIII. Provide data and assist with analysis and interpretation.
IX. Provide support for various office projects. Qualifications: REQUIRED: Master's degree in higher education, educational assessment, social sciences, or related field.
REQUIRED: Knowledge of assessment methods, databases, and spreadsheets. Experience with group facilitation, working in a team environment and working collaboratively with faculty. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, and produce analyzes and reports under strict guidelines. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
REQUIRED: 3 years in higher education or equivalent.
PREFERRED: A doctorate in higher education, educational assessment, social sciences, or related fields.
