Job Duties: The Office of Academic Planning and Accountability at Florida International University has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, knowledgeable person who has strong assessment and analytical skills and wants to become part of a team that strives to achieve and maintain a dynamic working partnership with current and future employees.
The Director of Assessment for the Office of Academic Planning and Accountability will be responsible for providing leadership and supervision to the Institutional Effectiveness staff as well as establishing cohesiveness between the academic units and Office of Academic Planning and Accountability.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Provides leadership to the development of the assessment report format, the development of the assessment cycle, and the timely and accurate submission of the academic learning compact (ALC) reports • Develops written manuals on assessment, Program Review and ALCs • Provides leadership on university assessment activities and in the development of an assessment plan ranging from the establishment of outcomes and methods of assessment to the interpretation and analysis of the results and follow-up • Ensures accurate submission of accreditation reports submitted to accreditation agencies as necessary • Collaborates with the Vice Provost on responsibility for the Program Review process including working with the Academic Units to ensure the timely submission of the reports and the establishment of professional development sessions on all the academic units and faculty as appropriate • Prepares written reports to be submitted to the Florida Board of Governors and all it entails Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and eight years of appropriate experience.
Desired qualifications: Strong background in the preparation and presentation of formal documents, submission of accreditation preferred.
