Institution: Governors State University is the only public university in Chicago’s south suburban area, serving approximately 7,750 students. GSU provides affordable and accessible undergraduate and graduate education to culturally and economically diverse students with undergraduate tuition that is the most affordable in the state. Currently, minorities comprise 45 percent of the total enrollment. The average age of a GSU student is 34. Approximately 28 percent of full-time members represent minorities, constituting one of the most diverse in the state of Illinois. In addition, GSU offers financial aid to qualified full and part time students, distributing $30 million in aid annually.

Job Duties: Governors State University's College of Education seeks to fill the position of Assessment Coordinator. The chief functions of this position include the following:

- Maintain awareness of NCATE developments and communicate the same to the Professional Education Unit (PEU);
- Provide leadership to the PEU, programs, and six NCATE standards and Illinois State Board of Education for approval expectations;
- Monitor NCATE and SPA information and provide updates to NCATE Steering Committee;
- Coordinate LiveText implementation within the PEU;
- Provide leadership and technical expertise in developing and maintaining the research functions of the College of Education and the PEU;
- Enhance the unit system of assessment, college strategic planning, policy analysis, data-driven administrative and academic decision-making, enrollment management, grants development and assessment, marketing, college and program accreditation.

Qualifications:
* Master's degree or higher (or equivalent background and professional credentials) in research and statistical methods;
* Experience with statistical and spreadsheet software;
* Experience designing and maintaining complex databases;
* Experience with assessment and with organizational preparations for accreditation or other external evaluation processes.
* Demonstrated ability to work with a team of faculty, staff, and students;
* Demonstrated ability to work on complex projects under minimal supervision;
* Experience in institutional research or research in higher education context;
* Degree in disciplines related to educational research/policy analysis or statistics, emphasizing research methods;
* Programming experience with MS Access;
* Experience with web development or web content management systems;
* Experience with LiveText or other electronic student portfolio platform;
* Experience with and appreciation of the issues facing higher education, especially those related to assessment and accreditation;
* Experience with NCATE accreditation processes;
* A "can do" attitude.
