Job dutiesThe Research Analyst will be responsible for supporting the multiple research initiatives undertaken by the Office of Institutional Research and Planning with a focus on producing standard institutional reports, conducting internal survey research, and completing external surveys. S/he will have a strong commitment to data integrity and will deliver clear, accurate, and informative results in a timely manner to support data-driven decisions.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Coordinate information reporting to government agencies and accrediting bodies; complete external requests for information about the College, including college guidebooks and ranking publications
• Coordinate survey research activities; oversee the administration, collection and analysis of student and programmatic survey data and report the findings to a variety of audiences
• Monitor benchmark data from peer and aspirant institutions and provide rankings analysis
• Extract and manipulate large data sets from various sources for use in official reporting of institutional statistics
• Collect, analyze, and report on a wide variety of institutional data; assist with the creation and maintenance of annual reports and dashboards
• Develop/write reports in a reporting tool such as Cognos or Tableau to inform decision-making at the operational level
• Respond to ad hoc data requests from various departments on campus
• Produce reports and analyses utilizing data from external resources
• Monitor compliance and regulatory reporting for the institution
Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
• 3-5 years related experience required, preferably in a higher education setting
• Demonstrated ability to organize and present complex data clearly and accurately for a broad audience
• Strong attention to detail. Able to work under pressure on multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner
• Proven problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills
• Experience using SPSS to merge large datasets and conduct basic descriptive analyses and in-depth knowledge of standard desktop applications
• Working knowledge of Jenzabar or another integrated student information system
• Experience utilizing business intelligence/ data visualization tools (ex. IBM Cognos, Tableau) is strongly desired
• Demonstrated ability to learn new software and continually acquire new competencies
