Institution descriptionThe Department of Decision Support Services is seeking an experienced technology manager to lead the Business Intelligence (BI) team and the Application Support and Training team. This individual will report to the Director and will be responsible for the day to day supervision of two teams consisting of 4-5 BI programmers and support staff. This position will manage the design, development and delivery of analytic reports and data visualizations. The successful candidate must be experienced in data presentation methodologies including data visualization, statistical graphics, and informational reports. This position will also oversee faculty and staff training and be responsible for creating technology driven learning activities and course content. This individual will also provide application support for the department's reporting tools.
Job dutiesThe scope of responsibility will include these specific duties but is not limited to the following:

•Provide day to day leadership for the Business Intelligence and Application Support teams
•Manage staff scheduling, work assignments, time cards and performance evaluations
•Create, deliver and maintain Business Intelligence solutions and applications
•Manage multiple deliverables and seamlessly transition amongst them
•Analyze large data sets and deliver results through BI reports and visual presentations
•Ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables meet user expectations
•Expert knowledge in the concepts of database structures, data querying, data mining, and technical documentation
•Ability to translate business questions into data requirements and Business Intelligence reports
•Develop and test Oracle Application Express (APEX ) applications and reports
•Create data visualizations, infographics and dashboards using Tableau
•Use effective instructional design principles to create a variety of learning materials for users
•Develop instructional end goals and assessment instrument criteria used to judge learner’s performance
•Establish/maintain strong relationships with the university community
•Host university forums and establish user groups
•Serve as a liaison between business users, IT and the BI staff.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present to university administration and faculty
•Possess knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new BI technologies
QualificationsPreference may be given to those who possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Management and have 3 years’ experience working with Oracle Application Express (version 4 or later). Experience with Banner Student Information System and Tableau (version 7 or later) is a plus.
Salary rangeDependent on qualifications and experience
Salary benefitsSalary range: $85,000-$95,000
