Job dutiesReporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Director of Assessment and Planning will provide leadership and expertise in the design, implementation and interpretation of assessments of programs and services across the IUPUI Division of Student Affairs. The Director will also serve as a member of the Vice Chancellor’s Executive and Leadership Teams.

This person will assist division departments/units in performing effective program evaluation and improvement processes and in implementing evidence-based decision making. This employee will also be responsible for leading all departments/units through the University’s program review process.

The units within the Division of Student Affairs include Campus Center and Student Experiences, Campus Recreation, Counseling and Psychological Services, Educational Partnerships and Student Success, Health and Wellness Promotion, Housing and Residence Life, Student Advocacy and Support, Student Conduct, and Student Health Services.

The Director of Assessment and Planning will also provide guidance in the evaluation of student learning outcomes based on engagement in Division programs and services. This employee will be responsible for producing reports to convey assessment information to constituents internal and external to the division. The Director will represent the Division of Student Affairs in campus-wide assessment and planning initiatives and consult regularly with the Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support to coordinate these efforts. This person will work closely with the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and provide critical insights on issues of division-wide performance, long-range planning, and contributions to student learning and success.
Qualifications• Minimum Education – Master’s degree in area related to higher education, assessment, inquiry, statistics, or social sciences. Doctorate in higher education and experience in student affairs preferred.

• Minimum Experience – Minimum of four years of experience in assessment, planning, or project/program management. Demonstrated use of established principles of measurement theory to develop valid and reliable instruments that assess student learning, satisfaction, or evaluation of programs and services. Experience creating, maintaining, and analyzing operational and longitudinal reporting.
