Job Description:
The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) at Arizona State University is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst. Under the direction of the Director of Academic Administration and Student Success, the successful candidate will provide support by translating business needs and questions into technical solutions using Business Intelligence (BI) tools to meet the data needs of units throughout the Fulton Schools, Dean’s Office and FSE administration.

Salary Range:
$55,400 - $98,560 per year; DOE

Essential Duties:
•Through the use of databases, data analysis procedures and data integration techniques, provides support for data management and information needs of key decision makers and Fulton Schools stakeholders (e.g., student and class reporting; research reports; reporting in WorkDay; financial planning reports; budget reports; human resources reporting; etc).
•Inventories Fulton Schools broad and diverse data needs; helps to identify and assesses potential data sources both existing and new.
•Receives report requests, evaluates requirements and creates reports and data products for stakeholders and data consumers.
•Works with Fulton Schools stakeholders to translate business needs and data requirements into new tools and technical solutions such as dashboards and other multidimensional tools.
•Assists with creating and delivering end user training and documentation.
•Participates in FSE systems user access review (Sharepoint, internal servers, etc) and security of data consistent with university policies and procedures.
•Performs oher duties as assigned
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a business, information technology or closely related field and two (2) years’ experience in data modeling or database design using SQL or similar language, BI tool use and administration as well as user training/documentation development experience OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications:
•Demonstrated knowledge of higher education performance measures such as retention and graduation rates.
•Experience with higher education processes, systems and data such as with PeopleSoft Student, SalesForce CRM and HR systems.
•Experience with Toad, SQL, Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) tools and Tableau and relational and multidimensional designs for accessing data and presenting information.
•Experience translating business questions and requirements into reports, views and BI data products.
•Demonstrated knowledge of Business Intelligence tool architectures, functions, and features.
•Experience in using problem-solving and metadata skills.
•Experience working effectively in an environment requiring balancing multiple competing deadlines and priorities and in collaboration with a variety of individuals.

Working Environment:
•Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
•Use office equipment including a desktop computer.
•Lift up to 20 pounds.
•Communicate to perform essential duties.
