Job dutiesOffice of Institutional Research serves as a centralized data resource to the university community by providing strategic, timely, accurate information and research service to assist institutional planning and assessment, inform sound decision making, and enhance institutional effectiveness.

The Social/Clinic Research Assistant reports to the Director of Institutional Research (IR) and assumes responsibility for assignments that support data collection, analysis, reporting, and research functions in the Office of Institutional Research. The scope of the position extends from IR to the entire University community.

The person should have working experience and be able to independently work on:
1) Survey design, implementation, analysis and reporting. The person should be able to develop, administer and analyze internal and external surveys related to students, faculty and staff using Qualtrics and other tools.
2) Manipulation and analysis of data using various programming tools such as R, SAS or SPSS.
The overall duties of this position entail data collection, management, analysis, reporting and presentation of detailed qualitative and quantitative data that support the informed decision-making. Under this general job function, the position specifically is responsible for
· Survey administration and assessment testing
· Data analysis using appropriate statistical software and methodologies
· Maintenance, integrity and visualization of institutional data & reporting
· Write or modify SQL queries to extract information from Banner forms/tables
· Generate student headcount, credit hours and AAFTE used for GA's enrollment projection
· Produce faculty teaching workload data for Delaware study
· Other work as assigned
QualificationsMinimum Training and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's Degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Management Preferences: Bachelor's Degree related to a discipline in information systems/technology, statistics, phycology or other equivalent fields.
· Be familiar with Excel, particularly using Pivot table;
· Have basic knowledge and experience in using SQL queries to extract from Banner forms/tables and manipulate data using SQL/SAS.
· Working knowledge and experience in using multivariate analysis and be able to apply appropriate statistical techniques for data collection, manipulation, cleaning and analysis in defined research area using SPSS, SAS or R.
· Ability to think analytically, pay attention to detail, have excellent communication skills and be able to work with a variety of audiences and explain technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
· Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and be flexible with changing project priorities.

Salary range$20,000 - $40,000
Salary benefitsSalary range is $30,206 to $43,000 per year
