Job dutiesThe Director supports the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer, as well as other senior leaders and academic deans by providing data and analysis to facilitate effective decision making. The Director oversees the development and implementation of analytical and reporting solutions, as well as internal and external, federal and state reporting. The Director will work collaboratively with Nebraska Central Administration on university-wide reporting and data initiatives and oversees the UNL Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics. The position also is responsible for the integration between UNL developed applications and third party vendor products; facilitation of data governance processes; working collaboratively to ensure that surveys and questionnaires are coordinated appropriately and reported accurately; oversight and integration of data repositories; interpretation of data and analytics; management of communications and end-user training; and development of new and enhanced capabilities. The Director is responsible for managing the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analytics. The Director will be actively engaged in professional organizations for institutional research, guide best practices and monitor national trends.
QualificationsA master's degree in business, information technology, higher education or related field and a minimum of five years of related experience in information analysis and reporting is required, preferably in a higher education setting. Experience with data warehouses, reporting and visualization tools in a higher education context is required. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with and leading a collaborative team environment with a diverse group of people. Seasoned computer and analytical skills, written and oral communication, experience with query languages and a demonstrated ability to effectively complete short-term and long-term complex assignments while maintaining cooperative and effective business relationships required. Experience with, and an understanding of large enterprise performance management systems preferred.
