Institution descriptionThe Institutional Research Analyst supervises all institutional research activities which provide information to support institutional planning, policy formulation, and decision making, directs and manages data collection, data analysis, and research activities relative to institutional research, and directs the compilation of data and manages the submission of required state and federal reports regarding University activities
Job duties• Plans, organizes, designs, coordinates and implements a comprehensive program of research projects. Collect data necessary for university planning, research, reporting, grant applications, and other institutional effectiveness functions.
• Plans, designs and consults with others on a variety of projects relating to university planning, institutional accountability, effectiveness and decision-making. Contribute to timely preparation of university documents for operational planning, accreditation, and internal and external reporting; ensure data are represented accurately.
• Function as the data director to ensure that the University meets all state and federal reporting requirements. Provide data to and extract data from IPEDS, Clearinghouse, ICW, and other data sources for institutional benchmarking.
• Responds to ad hoc issues concerning the University by researching the issues and providing appropriate responses.
• Coordinate participation and collection of data in national or statewide institutional research related studies to engage in comparative/peer analysis.
• Serve as point-of-contact for institutional data requests, and liaise with faculty, staff, and administrators in coordination of data gathering and reporting. Provide expert consultation on research methodology, data management, and data analysis and interpretation.
• Interpret federal legislation to assess impact on the institution's reporting needs.
• Provide support and training for faculty, staff, and administrators to extract and utilize data for individual unit purposes.
Qualifications• Master’s degree or doctorate preferred, in mathematics, statistics, education, social science, or a related field.
• Background in integrated technology, institutional research, statistics and analysis.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with educational technology, student management system, data reporting tools, statistical software, web design, and office productivity suite including spreadsheet, database, word processing, email, and presentation.
• Proficiency in the use of software for data extraction, verification and analysis and in working with relational databases (MS Access, Excel, SQL using Microsoft SQL server).
• Successfully pass a criminal background check.
