Conditions of Employment:
The person holding this position is considered a `mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate is required to complete a background check prior to assuming this position.

Position Information:
This is a full-time, permanent (probationary) position.

Special Working Conditions:
This position may require flexible work schedule especially during the Fall and Spring semesters that includes evening hours and possibly weekend hours.

Department: University Advisement Center

Under the general supervision of the AVP, Retention and Academic Advising, the Administrative Support Coordinators primary duties involve the coordination of the day-to-day administrative and clerical operations in support of the UAC staff, as well as providing moderate to complex special project support as directed. The Administrative Support Coordinator will perform a wide variety of tasks which will include, but are not limited to: providing support in preparing, processing and maintaining hiring, ordering, travel, supplies and payroll paperwork for the UAC; providing campus procedural support; coordinating and overseeing front desk student assistant schedules; compiling, tracking, and reporting on the department budget; responsible for files, archives, mail, and correspondence; answering general questions for walk-in students and on the phone; assist with coordinating academic advisors student case load; referring students to other campus offices; scheduling and tracking the UAC¿s advising appointments; maintaining the advising schedule for the UAC; and coordinating the use of EAB web-based application for tracking, scheduling of advising sessions.

QualificationsQualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge
- Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broader range of technology, systems, and packages.
- Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.

Skills
- Office skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent customer service skills both written and oral

Abilities
- Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects.
- Ability to apply independently a wide variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist.
- Ability to perform standard business math, such as calculate ratios and percentages, track financial data, and make simple projections.
- Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports.
- Ability to handle effectively a broader range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.
- Ability to handle multi tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with university personnel, parents, students, and community members.
- Ability to be fully functional in all technical aspects of work assignments.

Experience and Education:

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education:  A high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents.

Preferred Education: Two year of post secondary education at either a two or four-year college or a vocational preparation institution.

Required Experience:  (3) years of related office work experience

Preferred Experience: 2-4  years of clerical experience, including organization, coordination and performance of duties at a responsible level; experience with equipment/supply requisitions and payroll.
Salary range$40,000 - $60,000
Salary benefitsSalary Range:

The salary range for this classification is: $2,846 - $4,711 monthly.
