Sponsored Initiatives

The Data and Decisions Academy is a series of online, self-paced courses designed for community college institutional research professionals. Initial funding for the Data and Decisions Academy was made possible by a $1.92 million grant from Lumina Foundation for Education.
The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) has been awarded a grant of $675,000 from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to undertake three key projects to build IR capacity in the United States: a National Survey of Institutional Research, a Statement of Aspirational Practice for Institutional Research, and Exploration of Shared Services for Institutional Research.
With support from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), AIR operates the NCES Data Institute: Using Federal Datasets to Support Research on Postsecondary Education. The Institute provides an intensive introduction to NCES datasets and research methodologies.
With support from the AccessLex Institute, AIR operates a grant competition promoting scholarship on issues related to access, affordability, and value of legal education specifically, and graduate and professional education more broadly.
AIR partnered with the National Association of System Heads (NASH) to conduct research funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to examine public system/campus roles in institutional research.
