Using the PDP to Understand Academic Equity's Image

Virtual Workshop: November 18, 2–4 p.m. ET

Pricing: FREE ($0 members/$0 nonmembers)

Understanding equity is a multifaceted and crucial aspect of ensuring the success of our students. In the pursuit of equitable outcomes, institutions must navigate the complexities and intricacies of their students’ experiences and recognize the disparities that exist among them. By utilizing the comprehensive student progression and completion metrics provided in the National Student Clearinghouse Postsecondary Data Partnership (PDP) dashboards, this workshop guides participants in dissecting inequities across diverse student characteristics such as race/ethnicity, age, Pell status, first-generation status, and gender. Subsequently, we will explore strategies for leveraging this knowledge to drive meaningful institutional change and bridge disparities.

As a result of this workshop, participants will:

  • Understand the concept of academic equity within higher education.
  • Utilize PDP dashboards to identify disparities in educational outcomes.
  • Engage senior leaders, faculty, and other key partners in collaborative efforts towards academic equity.
  • Discuss strategies for effectively communicating this information with institutional stakeholders to build buy-in and create change.

Notes:

  • Registration closes November 14 or when capacity is reached. Space is limited.
  • You will receive the Zoom link the day before the workshop.
  • The workshop will be interactive, including the use of hands-on exercises and discussion.

Please note: This intermediate-level workshop is designed for current PDP users who have experience with basic PDP dashboard navigation. The workshop will be interactive and will require you to access and use your institution’s PDP dashboards.
