    For over a decade, AIR was funded by NCES to offer IPEDS training for those producing, submitting, and using IPEDS data. As the foremost expert in IPEDS data collection and reporting, AIR offers training for individual surveys, data tools, and benchmarking. Specialized training is available for IPEDS keyholders.

    This bootcamp is an intensive exploration of IR’s agency in data-informed decision cultures and the requisite skills. Included are research design, survey design, descriptive statistics, effective reporting and communication, and translating findings into recommendations.

  • Data Literacy Institute: Course for Cross-Institutional Teams

    An experience for a cohort comprising up to 30 individuals from across the institution (faculty, advisors, IR/IE professionals, and other staff and administrators). Includes six sections that follow AIR’s data-informed decision-making process through tutorials, virtual seminars, and small group capstone projects.

  • Data Governance: Moving Beyond Talking to Action: Webinar for Cross-Institutional Teams

    This webinar covers the basics of data governance—organizational structures, common governance roles, data dimensions, and more. It includes a template for self-study for participants to identify their institution’s data governance maturity and areas for improvement.

  • Art and Science of Managing the IR Office: Course for Cross-Institutional Teams

    This course provides a cohort of cross-institutional IR professionals with an overview of the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed for new IR office managers, including allocation of resources, workflows, budgeting, and communicating and leading staff.

  • AIR LEADs: Leadership with Evidence, Analytics and Data: Course for Cross-Institutional Teams

    This course prepares a cohort of cross-institutional higher education data professionals to make the transition to institutional leadership positions. Topics discussed include political savviness, effective communication and collaboration, intentionality, vision and strategy, advocacy, and care of oneself.

  • A Holistic Approach to Institutional Research: Course for Cross-Institutional Teams

    This online, mentor-supported course guides cross-institutional participants in exploring challenges and solutions in the evolving field of IR through readings, discussions, exercises, and videos. An optional two-day in-person seminar provides additional hands-on learning and networking opportunities.
