Job Duties

Data Analysis and Reporting (40%)
Analyze and interpret complex data to support the institution’s culture for data informed decision making. Identify problem areas, draw conclusions and recommend solutions. Compile, aggregate and analyze data from both internal and external data sources to clearly and succinctly render historical and current trends and that are pertinent to the university. Set parameters and perform survey research analysis, including survey design and development administration and compilation and presentation of results. Extract data from institutional data sources and utilize application software to design reports for faculty, administrators, and outside agencies. Develop and execute training plan to educate data users on how to use reports and interpret the data.

Dashboards and Visualizations (40%)
Design and maintain institutional dashboards. Extract, analyze and report data from the university’s business intelligence systems, or from external data sources at the state or national levels, in response to recurring and ad hoc requests. Maintain web pages of the OIRDA.

Projects (20%)
Design, organize, and direct evidence-based research and statistical projects. Collaborate with other OIRDA staff on local and national studies used in the management of the university. Supervise, administer and participate in research studies related to Institutional Research. Conduct other research projects as assigned by the director.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Public Policy, Institutional Research or related field. AND Three years’ work experience as a Research Analyst, Institutional Analyst, Data Analyst, Statistician or in a related role.

Strong analytic capabilities – knowledge of research methods, ability to perform research, statistical or data analysis studies with minimum supervision. Excellent statistical knowledge with proven ability to interact with statistical software (preferably SPSS). Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI to create dashboards. Ability to communicate results from analysis. Preferred Qualifications Experience in designing, conducting, interpreting, reporting and explaining data analysis. Experience using an SQL tool against Banner-derived data to query, analyze, and summarize large data sets. Competency using statistical analysis software such as R. Familiarity with IPEDS, PCHEES, Common Data Set and US News reporting. Survey development, administration and data analysis. Familiarity with survey software (preferably Qualtrics). Experience using business intelligence systems, data mining tools, or analytics for decision support. Familiarity with reporting tools (such as Jasper or Cognos). Experience working in higher education
