Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
--Research and complete information request from internal and external (governmental, public and private) agencies.
--Interpret reporting requirements from Federal, State and other agencies to complete informational requests.
--Disseminate policies from Federal and State reporting agencies to internal constituencies who operate under the influence of these policies.
--Provide close support to university survey operations and disseminate and document survey reports, and effectively communicate alternatives and conclusions to decision-makers and other units of the University community.
--Develop programming for verifying consistency and validity of information.
--Access and perform moderately complex query functions of databases and/or data warehouses based on informational need requirements.
--Evaluate and perform necessary verification processes of data sources to provide consistent and valid information.
--Serve as liaison to internal departments and external agencies for assigned functional areas. Complete certain ad hoc data requests from internal and external users.
--Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Moderate skills in the design and implementation of institutional research projects typically acquired through at least two years of related experience, including experience working with web applications and database systems is necessary. Prior experience working in higher education is strongly preferred.
The ability to interpret, administer and advise on complex Federal, State and institutional regulations and definitions in order to comply with reporting requirements is required.
Skills in statistical analysis and in the use of SPSS or SAS software is preferred.
Good interpersonal communication, project management and organizational skills are required.
